Egy háborús helyzet mindig drámai és tragikus, de hogy jön ide a komikum és az irónia?
Ahogy ezt már az ókori görögök is megállapították, a nyomasztó és sötét történések groteszk és abszurd képzeteket is világra segíthetnek.
Ezekből igyekszik megragadni és felmutatni darabokat ez a kiállítás.
A kiállítás eredetileg Budapesten, a Magdolna toronyban volt megtekinthető 2022 május 9-ig.
Peaceultimatum
Exhibition of cartoonists and satirical artists.
What have we got to do with the war? We can say that nothing. But we have something to do with everything that bothers do.
This exhibition does not undertake to analyze or judge the war that is taking place today.
At the same time, the participating artists respond in their own way to the
tensions of today that we experience indirectly here.
A war situation is always dramatic and tragic, but how do comedy and irony come here?
As the ancient Greeks have already stated depressing and dark events can bring grotesque and absurd notions into the world.
This exhibition seeks to capture and present pieces of these.
The exhibition was originally on show at the Magdolna Tower in Budapest until 9 May 2022.
“A Békeultimátum kiállítás kifejezetten az ukrajnai háborúra való reagálás.
Semmiképpen nem volt célunk politikai állásfoglalást tenni. Noha természetesen minden közreműködőnek van saját véleménye a háborúról általában és kifejezetten erről a szomszéd országban zajló rettenetről is.
Noha hirtelen felindulásból nehéz tárlatot szervezni, de sikerült a budavári gótikus romtemplom többszázéves Magdolna tornyának kiállítóterében megrendezni kiállításunkat.
Több művészt sikerült megnyernem a közös tárlathoz.
Annyi volt a válaszom - s egyben a felkérés mottója - a kérdésre, hogy mi közünk a háborúhoz: MINDEN, AMI ZAVAR MINKET, AHHOZ KÖZÜNK VAN.
A kiállítás anyaga - reményeim szerint - bővülni fog, s minden résztvevője vágya, hogy minél többen láthassák akár a valóságban, akár az internet virtuális világában.
A Magdolna torony béli kiállítás megnyitóján hetykén megjegyeztem, tanulhatnának a politikusok a karikatúristáktól: a KOKSZ műhely alkotói ugyanis egyetlen puskalövés és veszteség nélkül elfoglalták a tornyot. Nem kaparásztunk atombombát indító piros gomb körül, nem fenyegetőztünk, s lám, célunkat elértük, kiadtunk egy BÉKEULTIMÁTUMOT.
Mi megtettük, ami tőlünk telik. Innentől a többi érintetteken a sor.”

"The PEACEULTIMATUM exhibition is specifically a response to the war in Ukraine.
In no way did we intend to make a political statement. Although, of course, all contributors have their own opinions about the war in general and specifically about this horror in the neighboring country.
Although it is difficult to organize an exhibition on the spur of the moment, we managed to organize our exhibition in the exhibition space of the centuries-old Magdalene Tower of the Gothic ruined church in Buda Castle.
I managed to attract several artists for the joint exhibition.
My answer - and the motto of the invitation - to the question of what we have to do with the war was: everything that bothers us has to do with us.
I hope that the exhibition will grow, and I hope that all those involved in it will be able to see it in real life and in the virtual world of the Internet.
At the opening of the Magdolna Tower exhibition, I remarked that politicians could learn from the cartoonists: the artists of the KOKSZ workshop had taken the tower without a single shot fired and without any casualties. We did not try to reach the red button to set off a nuclear bomb we didn't threaten, and lo and behold. We achieved our goal: we published a PEACEULTIMATUM.
We did our best. From now on, it is up to the others involved."
