Steeve Bauras développe sa pratique pensée sur une photographie en noir et blanc sombre et formelle qui s’intègre, selon les circonstances, dans des installations sculpturales, vidéos ou sonores. Durant des années, il documente la scène noise et fréquente les concerts. Le son travaillé dans ses vidéos transmet ces atmosphères de distorsion intense. L’artiste s’interroge sur la capacité des images à restituer le réel et compose des cadrages et des mises en scène qui laissent libre cours au spectateur de s’y projeter. L’urbain et les liens sociaux contemporains, informés par un regard incisif sur l’histoire et différents types de ségrégation, sont au cœur de son projet.
Steeve Bauras is developing his practice based on black and white photography dark and formal type which integrated, depending on the circumstances, into sculptural installations, videos or sounds. For years, he documented the noise scene and attended concerts. The sound worked in his videos transmits these atmospheres of intense distortion. The artist questions the ability of images to reproduce reality and composes framing and staging that give free rein to the viewer to project themselves there. Urban and contemporary social ties, informed by an incisive look at history and different types of segregation, are at the heart of his project.
