Vedovi Gallery has been particularly active in the promotion and the development of René Magritte’s legacy on the international stage. An intimate and collaborative relationship with the Magritte Foundation has enabled the gallery to contribute significantly in the setting up of worldwide Magritte retrospectives (Rome, Tokyo, Seoul...) and dedicated thematic exhibitions (Magritte and contemporary Art: The Treachery of Images, LACMA, Nov 2006-Mar 2007 / Magritte : The Mystery of the ordinary 1926-1938 , MoMA Sept 2013-Jan 2014 – The Menil Collection Houston and The Art Institute of Chicago). The gallery has collaborated with the Centre Pompidou for the retrospective dedicated to the artist (Magritte : La Trahison des Images 21 Sept 2016-23 Jan 2017).\n\nIn addition to its commitment to Surrealism and modern art, the gallery, since its establishment, has been dedicated to supporting important contemporary artists with academic exhibitions, such as Ed Ruscha « Leave any information at the signal » or Tom Wesselman « The Great American 60’s ». The scope of artists exhibited eventually broadened to include Italian and American artists. Solo exhibitions of Lucio Fontana (2008), Alighiero e Boetti (2009), Agostino Bonalumi (2011), Donald Judd (2011), Richard Prince (2014) and Rudolf Stingel (2016), Germaine Richier (2018) and Christopher Wool (2018) demonstrate the gallery’s commitment to exhibiting masters of post-war art and established contemporary artists
