We strive to support the future of emerging and successive generations of Chinese contemporary art.
Our exhibitions are dedicated to providing important solo exhibitions for artists at a formative stage; supporting figures who have contributed significantly to the history of contemporary art; and also introducing new critical positions into China by cultivating an international dialogue with artists, collectors, institutions and curators.\n\nBased in the 798 Art District, Magician Space navigates beyond the remit of a conventional gallery by responding to the challenges faced in China. Through this dialogue-based process, our exhibitions are used to scrutinize the ideas of artists, facilitate cross-disciplinary interactions, and commission important works for an emergent wave of new voices. Our space offers an intimate scale allowing public audiences to freely engage with the work. We work closely with our artists in dialogue throughout the process of exhibition-making and the architecture has inspired artists to alter, challenge, and intervene with our gallery structure
