Vadehra Art Gallery is proud to present a selection of work by Sudhir Patwardhan, Atul Dodiya and Nalini Malani, who are some of India's leading contemporary artists. Our selection hinges on the archetypal visual language our artists are internationally recognized for as they explore the psychology and physicality of perspective and territory, be those textual and narrative, or political and geographic. Through both figurative and abstracted compositions, and technique and keenness, these artists’ contemplations vicariously embody the essence of these works, certifying the imagination as a kind of truth: Atul Dodiya’s iconic shutter is intent on the paradox of reveal; Sudhir Patwardhan's acrylic on canvas divinizes the humble, everyday life of the common man; and Nalini Malani's diptych is inspired from Eliot's Wasteland, invoking a composite 'third' figure who has a fuller experience of life than any normal man or woman.
