James Rieck “Mostly Psychological”

Embed
Gallery: Kasper Contemporary

Artist: James Rieck

James Rieck returns to grey scale in his latest painting series where he continues to source imagery from vintage clothing catalogs and magazine ads. In some pieces, he crops out sections of the picture frame that amplifies the emptiness of the removed parts. Along the key sides of those removed parts, Rieck adds florescent paint which creates an unexpected glow or aura around the nonphysical part of the painting, projecting a psychological state of mind on to the image of the model.
