Patrick Meagher: LineLand – The Tuscan Scrolls

Embed
Artist: Patrick Meagher

This set of five landscapes were made in Tuscany, looking out on the Montalcino hills, in the summer of 2016. The titles of the works are descriptive poems that give a sense of a narrative. These gouaches on rice paper are 8 feet long and need space to see the full image and feel the lateral movement. The PDF version of this series never quite gave a sense of scale, and the intended sequence and juxtaposition, that is now more discernible in this online viewing room powered by Walter's Cube.

great. I like these pieces. I think it has some special perspective to see an irregualr “long” artwork.
