From a young age, I was captivated by the world around me, meticulously recreating my favorite animals and the island's breathtaking landscapes. This not only honed my observation skills but ignited a passion for capturing the essence of what I saw.
While initially drawn to fields like automotive and shoe design, a pivotal summer spent under the tutelage of Barrington Watson changed my course. His emphasis on traditional techniques and capturing the soul of a subject resonated deeply, leading me to pursue a more classical artistic path.
The human form is a constant source of fascination for me. A subtle shift in posture or the nuanced application of color can completely transform the message conveyed. For instance, in my ongoing series "All is Fair" I utilize cool blues to evoke feelings of melancholy and warmth with vibrant reds to exude passion and energy.
The pursuit of a masterpiece is a lifelong journey, and while I may not have yet attained that elusive zenith, each creation brings me closer. Every brushstroke fuels my artistic evolution, pushing me to explore uncharted territories and refine my artistic voice.
